Motorcyclist identified in fatal collision in Victorville on Rodeo Drive as Igor Matyashuk

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — The San Bernardino County Coroner's Office has identified the motorcyclist killed in a collision Tuesday evening as 36 years old. Igor A. Matyashuka resident of Victorville.

The traffic collision, involving a motorcycle and a vehicle, occurred at 7:17 p.m. on May 28, 2024, at the intersection of Rodeo Drive and Hughes Road.

First responders arrived on scene to find a blue and white Yamaha sports motorcycle and a black Mercedes-Benz blocking the roadway.

Matyashuk collided with the driver's side door of the vehicle and was thrown from his bike. Despite rescue measures, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Mercedes and a passenger refused medical transport at the scene and then drove to a local hospital by private vehicle.

Preliminary information indicates the Yamaha was traveling north on Rodeo Drive, while the Mercedes was westbound on Hughes Road when the collision occurred.

The intersection was closed for several hours to allow an investigation.

Neighborhood residents are concerned about high vehicle speeds and are calling for a four-way stop sign or traffic light to be installed.

Victorville police are investigating the official cause of the crash. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
