Mother of Missing Baby Searches for Answers 6 Years Later on Daughter's Birthday

The day before her daughter's birthday, a Roanoke mother is demanding answers after her little girl disappeared nearly six years ago.

Arieanna Day was three months old when she was taken to her home on Hanover Avenue.

On the eve of her sixth birthday, the child's mother, Jessica Day, is pleading for answers.

“Arieanna went missing at 9:45 a.m., between 9:35 and 9:45 a.m. I didn't have a baby monitor at the time, but I was very consciously walking around the house listening to the sounds and her screams,” Day said.

Roanoke investigators presume Arieanna is dead, but Day said she believes her daughter is still alive.

“I hope she's there. I feel she's there. My heart feels she's there,” Day said.

The initial investigation left authorities with more questions than answers.

At the time, investigators looked into Arieanna's mother and father. The latter after admitting at one point to burying her in a shallow grave.

Andrew Terry was accused of hiding a body, although no body was ever found.

With so many discrepancies in the testimony, his trial ended in a hung jury.

Day said she considered putting Arieanna up for adoption, but now she just wants her daughter home.

“I asked for adoption at the end of my year, when it was almost time for me to give birth to Arieanna. Arieanna is a miracle, she's a miracle child,” Day said.

Jessica said she won't have peace until her daughter is found.
