Morristown man identified in May Grainger County double homicide

TBI also said it was unable to locate Aaron Ethan White after obtaining warrants and charging him with two counts of criminal homicide.

GRAINGER COUNTY, Tenn. — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has charged and identified a Morristown man in connection with a double homicide case in Grainger County that began in May.

TBI said that during the investigation, authorities determined that Aaron Ethan White, 34, was responsible for the murder of the two men. TBI also said it was unable to locate White after obtaining warrants and charging him with two counts of criminal homicide.

“Attempts to locate White were unsuccessful,” TBI said. “Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 1-800-TBI-FIND.”

TBI added White to the bureau's most wanted list.

“He should be considered armed and dangerous,” TBI said.

White is approximately 6 feet, one inch tall and weighs approximately 220 pounds. with blue eyes, TBI said. He is believed to have a shaved head and beard.

Authorities have since identified the two victims as Deven McDaniel, 32, and Jonathan Atkins, 49. The cause of death is currently unknown.

Few details have been released about the investigation. WBIR arrived at Rocky Springs Road Sunday evening to find a home surrounded by sheriff's tape.

“On Saturday, at the request of 4th Judicial District Attorney General Jimmy Dunn, TBI agents began working alongside the Grainger County Sheriff's Office to investigate a double homicide that occurred along Rocky Springs Road in Bean Station The victims have been identified as Jonathan W. Atkins (DOB: 12/14/74) of Bean Station and Deven D. McDaniel (DOB: 06/20/91) of Rogersville Currently under investigation. remains active and in progress.
