More than 80 counterfeit pills found during traffic stop

CALEDONIA CITY, Wis. (WMTV) – Two men were arrested after authorities found more than 80 counterfeit pills during a traffic stop Friday morning, the Columbia County Sheriff's Office reports.

Around 11:05 a.m., the Sheriff's Office said a Columbia County Sheriff's K9 deputy saw a vehicle with an equipment violation traveling eastbound on Highway 33 near Main St. Road, in the town of Caledonia.

According to the sheriff's office, the deputy stopped the vehicle and detected the odor of marijuana while speaking with the occupants. A search was conducted and several illegally controlled substances were found.

Among the searches, the sheriff's office said more than 80 counterfeit M30 oxycodone blue pills laced with fentanyl were found.

A 26-year-old Madison driver was arrested for possession with intent to deliver fentanyl, second offense THC possession, drug possession and probation violation. They were taken to the Columbia County Jail.

A 26-year-old Sun Prairie transient was arrested for possession of narcotics, second offense possession of THC, carrying a concealed knife and violation of probation. They were taken to the Columbia County Jail.
