More than 150 Vehicles Showcased Saturday at DC Sheriff's All-Wheel Drive Event | Raccoon Valley Radio

The Dallas County Sheriff's Office held its annual car show Saturday in which more than 150 vehicles took part.

According to Dallas County Sheriff Adam Infante, 154 vehicles were registered during the 15th annual Dallas County Sheriff's All-Wheel Show. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that's about 25 more than last year's event. He credited the weather as it was partly sunny skies with temperatures in the upper 70s. Infante says people love coming back every year and traveling from all over the country.

“The thing about car enthusiasts is that they love to come back year after year, it has become a tradition for them. Every year they come back. We have people from all over the country. I talked to a guy from Minnesota, Arizona, and then of course our locals who came by to check out the cars, and all of those proceeds go to the Special Olympics of Iowa.

Several prizes were awarded to close the show. Kevin McCartney of Red Oak, IA, won the prize for longest drive (103 miles). Best Off-Road Vehicle went to Mike Millerin with his 1972 Honda, Most Likely to Be Arrested by a Cop went to Jack Sehman for the 1967 Chevrolet Camaro, and Best in Show was Ed Origer's 1970 Ford Mustang Boss.
