More family members arrested in investigation into missing baby in Ohio Co.

More arrests were made following an investigation into the disappearance of a child in Ohio County, including family members, but there was no sign of Miya (Tucker ) Rudd, eight months, since Kentucky State Police opened the case on June 6.

Kentucky State Police (KSP) said officers executed a search warrant Wednesday at the residence of Miya Rudd's grandparents (the parents of Miya's mother, Tesla Tucker), in the 900 block of houses 1300 of Leitchfield Road in Owensboro.

Although investigators did not locate baby Miya, they seized electronic devices and arrested both grandparents.

Taletha D. Tucker, 50, was charged as a fugitive on another state warrant for Indiana, while David Tucker, 53, was taken into custody on a no-miss warrant. -payment issued in Daviess County, KY.

Both were booked into the Daviess County Detention Center in Owensboro. Tesla Tucker's three children, who resided with the Tuckers, were transferred by the Community Services Cabinet to another location.

Officers arrested and initially charged the mother of the missing child, Tesla Tucker, 29, with Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Fentanyl); Possession of drug paraphernalia and abandonment of a minor, but later, trafficking in controlled substances, 1st degree (more than 2 grams – methamphetamine); Trafficking in legendary drugs; Marijuana trafficking; Child abuse first; Participating in organized crime and possessing paraphernalia.

Cage C. Rudd, 30, the baby's father, was initially charged with possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (Fentanyl); Possession of controlled substance 1st degree (methamphetamine); Possession of drug paraphernalia and abandonment of a minor. He also faces additional charges of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree (more than 2 grams – methamphetamine); Trafficking in legendary drugs; Marijuana trafficking; Child abuse first; Participating in organized crime and possessing paraphernalia.

On June 9, officers arrested Miya Rudd's other grandmother, Billie J. (Rudd) Smith, 49, of Reynolds Station on a warrant for 2nd Degree Assault – Domestic Violence, stemming from an incident that occurred in Daviess County in October 2023. Officers were conducting a search/welfare check for the missing eight-month-old child when they discovered Ms. Smith had an active warrant.
