Monday marks the one-year anniversary of the disappearance of Tallahassee girl Lori Paige, who was last seen

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – It's been 12 months since Tallahassee's Lori Paige sat in class at Griffin Middle School, saw her loved ones or slept in her own bed.

His absence was painful.

The Tallahassee girl's 13th birthday passed just over a month ago, but there was no sign of her. As time passes since Paige was last seen, a central question arises for the community that was affected by her disappearance: Where is Lori Paige?

She was just 12 years old when she was last seen on the Continental Court near Ocala Road in June 2023. This area is near San Luis Mission Park, where months later near of 100 people fanned out across the wooded area to assist in a grid search. no clue as to Paige's whereabouts. That same week, the Federal Bureau of Investigation announced a $15,000 reward for information about the girl's disappearance.

Who is Lori Paige?

At the time of her disappearance, Paige was 5 feet tall and weighed approximately 120 pounds, with brown eyes and shoulder-length black dreadlocks. An official missing person flyer with photos of her can be seen below.

Paige's family has not spoken to any media outlets or released an official statement regarding her disappearance. However, paraprofessional Margaret Summers, who taught Paige, shared with WCTV that she was a bright and attentive student who left a lasting impact.

“We're supposed to do everything we can to make kids feel important, but the way she always turned to me, it made me feel important,” Summers said in a February interview. “I haven’t forgotten how she made me feel.”

Where is the investigation?

Over the past 12 months, Tallahassee police have repeatedly stated that this case is a priority.

TPD Chief Lawrence Revell is expected to speak with the media about the case on Monday. In previous interviews, detectives and a TPD spokesperson expanded on some of the aspects that made Paige's case unique.

According to TPD, Paige did not have a known fingerprint to follow at the time of her disappearance. However, a spokesperson said in February: “Even with a minimal digital footprint, we still need to comb through online evidence.”

As time has passed, concerns from law enforcement and the community have increased each day.

In addition to a reward for information, billboards were also posted in Florida, Georgia and Tennessee to raise awareness of the research. The FBI said Paige had “ties to or may be traveling to Tallahassee, Florida; Tampa, Florida; Thomasville, Georgia; and Nashville, Tennessee. It's unclear what his ties to Georgia or Tennessee might be.

What can you do?

Authorities called on residents to share whatever information they have, “no matter how insignificant.” TPD investigators are asking anyone who may have information about Paige's disappearance or whereabouts to contact them at 850-891-4200..

Over the past few months, Summers and other community figures have distributed flyers, planted yard signs and held news conferences to keep attention on the case. In a previous interview, Summers said she didn't want the passage of time to cause anyone to give up on the case.
