Mixed-use development opens near Twins ballpark, with daytime entertainment among planned offerings

Hines and Marquee Development cut the ribbon on North Loop Green Friday, breaking ground on a project across from the Twins' Target Field in downtown Minneapolis that began construction in 2021, SBJ's Bret McCormick reports.

The project includes 350,000 square feet of creative office space, 350 market-rate luxury residences and 100 short-term rental residences, a hotel, 10,000 square feet of food and beverage offerings and green space public one acre called the Green. The residences and hotel are located in the 34-story North Loop Green 360 residential tower; the upper levels of the tower offer views of the stadium.

Houston-based real estate giant Hines and Marquee, the real estate company spun off from the Cubs organization, has partnered on the project. The Twins are not financially involved in North Loop Green, though they will benefit from its proximity to their ballpark, including through watch parties and other team-related activations.

The North Loop Green will host more than 100 outdoor public events this summer, including Gameday at The Green, where on Twins game days, drink specials and music will be provided by GenerationNOW Entertainment, the official DJ partner of North Loop Green. Select Twins games will be displayed on the buffet throughout the summer.

The North Loop Green near Target Field is not owned by the Twins, but will host game events
