Missouri teen who disappeared after getting into vehicle found dead in rural home 10 days later

The body of a missing 19-year-old woman was found outside a home in Springfield, Missouri, and police deemed the death “suspicious.”

The Greene County Sheriff's Office confirms it is treating Mackenna Milhon's death as a homicide.

Milhon's remains were found Monday, 10 days after his family reported him missing.

Police do not believe she has any connections to anyone living in the house she was found behind.

“This is a horrible tragedy, especially over the Christmas period, our detectives are working closely with [Springfield Police] “In determining the events that led to Mackenna’s death, our prayers are with the family,” Sheriff Jim Arnott told reporters outside the home Monday.

Arnott said the investigation is being treated as a homicide at this time.

“We will work backwards from there and hope to have answers shortly,” he added.

Milhon was last seen Dec. 20 getting into a black vehicle at the Kum and Go convenience store in Springfield.

Detectives have been working on the case ever since.

Police would like to speak with anyone who may have information about suspicious activity in the area over the past few days and are asking people to contact the Greene County Sheriff's Office at (417) 829-6230.
