A Mississippi teenager has been charged with attempted murder and making terroristic threats after he threatened to shoot customers and employees inside a Waffle House, then chased down and shot a customer who left the restaurant.

Officials with the Jackson County Sheriff's Office arrested Jaden Bryant Maples, 16, of Moss Point, on May 30.

WLOX in Biloxi reports that Maples was charged with attempted murder and making terroristic threats in connection with a May 22 incident.

Maples allegedly called the Waffle House on Highway 63 and threatened to shoot customers and employees inside.

A man officers believe Maples was targeting left the restaurant and began driving down the highway.

Officials say Maples rammed his vehicle into the man's car until the car broke down. When the man tried to run away, Maples allegedly shot him several times.

Maples was arrested when officers served a search warrant at his home, where officials report several guns and ammunition were found in Maples' bedroom.
