A woman who Chino Hills police determined was missing under “suspicious circumstances” has been found and her boyfriend has been arrested on multiple charges, authorities say.

The missing person investigation began at 6:42 a.m. Tuesday in the 4300 block of Francis Avenue in unincorporated Chino, police said. After determining that the unidentified woman was missing due to suspicious circumstances, detectives conducted interviews with people familiar with the situation.

After developing leads, police said, a vehicle of interest was identified and surveillance was conducted at a home in the 3100 block of Vintage Place in Jurupa Valley.

Police then conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle involved and located the missing woman in the car. She was seriously injured and was transported to a local hospital, according to police.

A man was also inside the vehicle and was identified as Javier Ramirez, 52, a resident of Jurupa Valley. Police determined Ramirez and the woman were in a romantic relationship.

He was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping, domestic violence, false imprisonment, serious battery, dissuading a victim and violating a court order.

The investigation revealed that Ramirez allegedly assaulted and imprisoned the woman for two days before his arrest. He was then incarcerated at the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside.

No additional details were immediately made available.
