Missing Plymouth man found dead, police say

A Plymouth man reported missing earlier this week after leaving Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in this South Shore city was found dead Saturday, police said.

Rodney Riviello, 69, who suffered from severe memory problems, was found outside Saturday afternoon after a four-day search, Plymouth police said in a statement.

The location where he was found has not been disclosed. He lived in the Manomet area of ​​Plymouth, police previously said.

Riviello was last seen around 11:15 a.m. Tuesday near Sandwich Road Hospital, Plymouth police said in a news release.

Riviello's family had offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to his safe return, according to a flyer posted on the police department's Facebook page.

The family has asked for privacy in light of Riviello's death, Plymouth Fire Chief Neil Foley and Police Chief Dana A. Flynn said in a joint statement.

“Members of the Plymouth Police Department and Plymouth Fire Department extend their sincere condolences to Mr. Riviello’s family and loved ones,” the statement said.

Dozens of police and community members participated in a search earlier this week. In their statement, Foley and Flynn thanked “everyone who contributed to the search efforts this week.”

No further information has been released.
