Missing Persons Update: Possible New Clues Found in Search for Mr. Severson

UPDATE: Over the weekend of June 1-2, 2024, search and rescue volunteers from several counties organized a second search in the area where Mr. Severson was last reported, in hopes of find evidence of Mr. Severson's whereabouts. The search area has been expanded. Mr Severson was not found, but several items of clothing were found which had not been discovered during previous searches. It has not been determined whether the clothing belonged to Mr. Severson, but some of the items generally appeared to match those he last wore.

Mr. Severson was last seen wearing dark colored Carhart pants and a dark colored sweatshirt/hooded jacket. He is approximately 5' 04″, 140 pounds and has short brown hair.

ORIGINAL: At 11:45 a.m. Friday, May 3, the Klamath County Sheriff's Office was notified of a missing person in the area of ​​Dead Indian Memorial Rd and Keno Access Rd west of Klamath Falls, near the Lake of the Woods. Gerald “Jerry” Duane Severson, a 56-year-old man from Applegate Valley, is missing. The initial report stated that Mr. Severson had gone to the area with friends to hunt for mushrooms and was last seen walking alone in the woods near Dead Indian Memorial Rd and Keno Access Rd late in the year. afternoon of Thursday, May 2. Friends searched for him Thursday evening and Friday morning before contacting Klamath County 911 just before noon.
