Missing people from Sussex and still missing

Dozens of people are currently missing across the country.

Missing People is a British charity that seeks to bring missing people home. It catalogs missing people across Sussex with the aim of gathering information on their whereabouts and hopefully reuniting them with their loved ones.

A missing person is reported every 90 seconds in the UK and there are currently 23 people missing in Sussex, of all ages and backgrounds.

Ervis Ndreca

Ervis went missing in Hove on July 14, 2022. He was aged 17 at the time of his disappearance.

Akil Dervishi

Akil has been missing since May 4, 2022 and was last seen in Sussex aged 17.

Hassan Hamoody

Hassan was last seen on April 2, 2022, aged 17, also in Sussex.

Tigert Grosha

Tigert went missing in Sussex at the age of 16 on April 16, 2022.

Michael Rossignol

Michael went missing from his home in Magham Down, Beachy Head, on April 7, 2022.

His van, a silver Peugeot Partner, was found parked on Beachy Head Road that evening.

He was 60 years old at the time of his disappearance.

Bruno Sauma De Paula

Bruno was last seen at a service station in Sutton Corner, Seaford, on December 10, 2021.

The 37-year-old at the time is from Eastbourne.

David Gibson

David, known as Kiwi, disappeared from Brighton on March 15, 2021, aged 37.

He has a New Zealand accent and has links to Eastbourne as well as the south coast marinas.

Owen Harding

The disappearance of Owen from Saltdean in 2020 raised alarms in the community and across the country.

The then 16-year-old boy wandered off three days into the Covid-19 lockdown and never returned home.

This was followed by a huge community search effort and a candlelight vigil in people's windows a year later.

His mother, Stella, also launched a campaign to raise funds for the missing in his memory.

Owen is a talented artist who attended sixth form at Varndean College in Brighton.

Stella is still haunted by the disappearance of her son.

David Skerrett

David has been missing since June 15, 2019 from Bognor Regis.

He passed away at the age of 63, which was described as “out of character”.

Ian Atfield

Ian disappeared from Crawley on June 2, 2016, aged 58.

Hoang Nguyen

Aged 16, Hoang disappeared from Portslade on March 3, 2018.

Georgina Gharsallah

Georgina, then aged 30, became the subject of a police investigation which revealed numerous failings in the investigation into her disappearance.

Sussex Police accepted 27 failures, including key CCTV footage that was not examined until a year after the disappearance, lost CCTV segments and the early search of limited CCTV in the area and late search.

The mother of two was last seen walking along Chapel Road in Worthing on March 7, 2018.

Georgina's mother, Andrea, was still continuing the search five years later, in 2023.

Gillian Affleck

Gillian went out for a walk on August 24, 2017, but did not return.

The Patcham woman was 50 years old at the time of her disappearance.

Her partner, Martina, led an eight-mile walk along the Sussex Downs to raise money for missing people following Gillian's disappearance.

She also organized a week-long billboard campaign at Brighton station in 2022, to mark Gillian's 55th birthday.

Fatima Mohamed Ali

Fatima has been missing since February 12, 2016.

She disappeared from Newhaven aged 52, and her last sighting was captured on CCTV walking along Avis Road.

The mother of three and grandmother is still missing, although in 2023 her husband, Mohamed Mohamed-Ali, renewed the appeal to find his missing wife.

James Hinton

James disappeared from Herstmonceux on June 1, 2012, at the age of 26.

Philip Palmer

Phillip, who has no fixed address, was last seen on August 22, 2012.

The man, who was 39 at the time, was well known in Hastings.

He was last seen collecting medication from his local pharmacy.

Matthew Page

Matthew disappeared aged 24 from Hove on January 1, 2006.

Bankoku Sasagawa

Bankoku, who was an architect, disappeared on May 12, 2010.

He was then aged 43 and traveling from Sussex to London.

The Arundel man was last seen after his friend left him at Arundel train station.

Joyce Wells

Joyce, a woman from Bexhill, was last seen at her home when she was visited by her daughter on November 11, 2008.

The retiree, then aged 73, was due to see her daughter again the following Friday, but she was not there when she arrived.

Personal items such as her purse were left on her property.

Elaine Taggart

Elaine, from Ferring, disappeared on January 3, 2008.

His red Fiat Punto was found the next day in Goring Street, near the station.

Her husband, Andrew Taggart, was arrested for her murder, but was released on bail. He spoke out against his treatment by the police.

Vera disappeared from Worthing on March 30, 2007, aged 16.

Lingran Lin

Lingran arrived in Hove with a language group from Beijing in 2006, but disappeared on July 29.

She spent her first night in the countryside with a host family in Glebe Villas, Hove, and began her course at Brighton and Hove City College.

However, she was last seen getting off a 49 bus on July 29.

James Funnel

James has been missing from Hastings since November 14, 2005.

He was last seen by his wife and was aged 50 at the time.

The last trace of the man was a note left at his home that read “I'm going out.”
