Missing mother found dead inside python

INDONESIA (WJW) — A wife and mother of four never came home last week, worrying her family.

Following a search in the village of Kalempang, in central Indonesia, the 45-year-old woman named Farida was found dead on Friday… in the belly of a 16-foot reticulated python.

Her husband became suspicious when he found his belongings on the ground, but not his wife, a village chief told Agence France Presse (AFP). A snake was later spotted nearby with an extended midsection.

In a graphic video posted by TMZ, villagers were shown cutting open the python to see if Farida was indeed inside. His head was immediately visible. His body was found with all his clothes intact.

Although pythons attacking humans are considered extremely rare, this is the fifth fatal incident in Indonesia since 2017, CBS News reported. Normally, pythons prefer animals like pigs, monkeys and other mammals found in South Asia, which they eat by crushing them to death before swallowing them whole.

The reticulated python is the longest snake in the world, according to the National History Museum of Great Britain, and can grow to more than 20 feet long.
