Missing Kansas mother and daughters were 'forced' to go to Mexican religious institution, official says

A missing Kansas woman and her two daughters may have been “forced to travel to Mexico to a religious rehabilitation center,” said Melissa Underwood, a spokeswoman for the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.

The KBI issued an endangerment advisory for Martha Unger, 23, and her daughters, Madilynn Grace Unger, 2, and Haylie Faith Unger, 1, after they were reported missing from their rural Haskell County home shortly before 7 p.m. Friday.

“Investigators wish to check on the welfare of Martha and her children,” Underwood said in a news release.

Martha Unger is believed to be driving a white 2015 Ford Explorer with Kansas license plate #301RJY.

“Investigators believe they were forced to travel to Mexico to a religious rehabilitation center with Corney and Elizabeth Klaasen,” the press release said. “The Klaasens may be driving a white and black Chevrolet Blazer with a Mexican license plate. »

Elizabeth and Corney Klaasen have a photo of the Chevrolet Blazer with a Mexican license plate they may be driving. Authorities are looking for them in connection with the disappearance of a Kansas woman and her two daughters.

Anyone who sees any of the people involved or any of the vehicles is asked to call 911. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Haskell County Sheriff's Office at 620-675-2289.
