Missing Cedar County man found dead

CLINTON Co., Iowa (KWQC) – A Cedar County man who was reported missing from his home has been found dead, according to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.

The Cedar County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in locating Kevin McClure. Officers said he was found Friday afternoon at the McAndrews Wildlife Refuge in Clinton County.

The Clinton County Sheriff's Office and the Medical Examiner's Office were called to the scene and an investigation is ongoing.

No foul play is suspected, according to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office posted a flyer with his photo and identifying information:

McClure, of rural Stanwood, was last seen on security video at a Casey's in Clarence on June 25. He was reported missing on Thursday.

His vehicle was later found in Eden Valley Park in rural Jackson County, about 20 miles away.

Law enforcement conducted searches by air, land and water, according to a news release from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.

Joining in the search were the Cedar, Clinton, Jackson and Jones County Sheriff's Offices, the Iowa State Patrol, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Clinton County Conservation, the Clinton County Medical Examiner's Office, the Maquoketa Fire Department and the Eastern Iowa Areas Crisis System Team.
