Missing Alliance woman found dehydrated but otherwise healthy – KCSR/KBPY

The Alliance Police Department said a 75-year-old woman diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease was found safe yesterday afternoon, 2 1/2 days after she went missing and about 30 hours after a report endangered species has been issued for her.

Police Chief David Leavitt said Patricia Eichhorn was dehydrated, but otherwise in good health. She received necessary medical treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.

Eichhorn had been reported missing around 10:30 Tuesday evening and the endangered missing person advisory was issued about 12 hours later. The only trace of her before she was found was on security video around 10:30 Wednesday night.

Chief Leavitt would not say where Eichhorn was found, but a post on the Alliance Police Facebook page thanked Nebraska State Trooper Juan Garfio for “checking out the around Alliance and discovered our missing person.

Leavitt asked for respect for the privacy of Eichhorn's family while thanking the Alliance community for its support and understanding, but he also said officials were grateful for the efforts and support of all people involved in Eichhorn's search and rescue.

He cited companies who helped sift through hours of security footage, volunteer groups who conducted searches, city employees who conducted a grid search yesterday afternoon, as well as the Patrol State Department and the Box Butte County Sheriff's Office.

Chief Leavitt specifically singled out the State Patrol Air Wing for its assistance to the Alliance, as well as the patrol's drone operations, which helped the searches cover large swaths of terrain day and night .
