Missing 78-year-old man found safe in Normal

UPDATE: The Normal Police Department said at 10:05 a.m. Saturday that Thomas Bunch had been found and was safe. NPD thanked the public and the McLean County EMA for their assistance.

NORMAL — The Normal Police Department is asking for help finding a 78-year-old man reported missing from Normal.

Thomas Bunch was last seen Friday at 5:06 p.m. in the 500 block of Broadway, the NPD said in a Facebook post.

He wore a green sweater, a red undershirt, black sweatpants and a blue hat.

Bunch's daughter, Marylee Allen, confirmed to the Pantagraph that Bunch suffered from Alzheimer's disease and primary progressive aphasia, which affected his speech. He may also be confused or disoriented.
