Missing 4-year-old found dead, 6-year-old found with suspect

A heartbreaking point regarding the two missing girls.

The body of 3-year-old Erin Brunett was found in a wooded area near Jackson, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office.

His sister Jalie Brunett, aged 6, was found unharmed by the suspect, who is currently in custody.

Deputy Chief Jimmy Travis previously told WBRZ that enough time has passed and the girls could be in another state.

Authorities have now located the girls and identified the suspect as Daniel Callahan, who had been dating the girls' mother, Callie Brunett. Callie's father found her body at her home Thursday morning.

Callie and her two daughters were last seen Tuesday evening and the search began Wednesday evening.

Detectives with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office are searching for two young girls who disappeared from their home after their mother was found deceased in the home.

Callie Brunett, 35, who was found dead at her home in Loranger early Thursday morning after being missing for 24 hours. The father is not a suspect in the kidnapping of the two girls or in the murder of their mother.

Her two young children, Jalie, 6, and Erin, 4, are currently missing. Authorities are asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact 911 immediately.

Additionally, Brunett's black 2012 Chrysler 200, with Louisiana license plate 859GML, is also missing.

An Amber Alert has been issued throughout the state of Louisiana.
