Missing 14-year-old Warren County girl found in North Carolina, sheriff says

DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WXIX) – Hailey Wagoner, the 14-year-old girl who was kidnapped Tuesday, was found Thursday, according to her family and the Warren County Sheriff's Office.

According to her father, Bill Wagoner, she was found in Cleveland County, North Carolina.

He said the man who took her had been arrested.

Wagoner said the sheriff's office worked with the FBI to track down the suspect.

“I spoke to him briefly,” he said. “She was very upset. I told him I loved him. I asked her what she was thinking and she said she didn't know. She said she was sorry and that was about it.

He said they didn't know when Hailey would come home. He said Hailey would be questioned by law enforcement in North Carolina and Ohio.

“I guess they're going to question her, but they haven't said when I'm going to pick her up,” Wagoner said. “They'll probably question him when he gets back here.” She can't make a mistake like that again. Hopefully this is a wake-up call.

In a social media post, the Warren County Sheriff's Office said it was working to reunite Hailey with her family and called her recovery a multi-agency effort.

“The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is grateful for the efforts of everyone involved in the safe location and recovery of Haley,” the department said.

The ministry said it would release more information on Friday.
