Miss West Virginia and Miss West Virginia Teen crowned in Martinsburg

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Two new women will be the faces of Miss West Virginia and Miss West Virginia's Teen after a week of activities culminating with the final competition held Saturday in Martinsburg.

The new Miss West Virginia is Jennifer Reuther, who competed under the title of Miss Tri-State Area.

Reuther’s community service initiative is called “Wellness Across West Virginia.” She told MetroNews she plans to set out to spread that message across the state.

“I'm probably trying to make sure I'm not daydreaming, but I'm definitely planning my year and I've already got some fun things planned. I’m so excited to get started,” she said.

Reuther said the title meant a lot to her.

Miss WV Teen Demi Breeden

“I feel absolutely blessed and very grateful for this opportunity,” she said.

Demi Breeden, the newly crowned Miss West Virginia 2024, was still emotional minutes after winning the title.

“It means so much to me. I can't stop crying. It’s the best thing that could happen,” Breeden said.

Breeden's social impact initiative, “Jack's Journey,” honors the Ronald McDonald House charities, which she says were incredibly helpful when a loved one was ill.

Competing as a Miss Morgantown teen, Breeden wowed the crowd by dancing to a medley of “Country Roads” and “I Will Always Love You.”

Just after 8 p.m. Saturday, dozens of competing hopefuls were narrowed down to ten finalists in each division in front of a packed house at the Airborne Church Event Center.

The women then answered a question from a panel of judges, after which the top seven were announced. The fitness portion of the evening brought together the contestants in sports gear, working out on stage to the sound of upbeat music.

Following this, the group was narrowed down to five finalists.

Before the five finalists from the Miss and Teen competition competed in the evening dress portion of the competition, the rest of those who had spent the week working on the preliminary phases of the competition had their time to shine in the spotlight, dressed as their evening. dresses.

After that, the five finalists from each division walked the stage and podium and each was asked a question by the evening's host, Camille Schrier (Miss America 2020).

This year, representatives from across the Mountain State were represented at the competition.

The winners will compete in the upcoming Miss America/Miss America's Teen pageants.
