Miss McAlester and Miss McAlester's Teen will compete in the Miss Oklahoma and Miss Oklahoma's Teen Pageant | News

Miss McAlester Hensley Kidd and Miss McAlester Teen Sophie Eaton are scheduled to represent the McAlester community at the Miss Oklahoma and Miss Oklahoma's Teen Pageant June 5-8, 2024, at the River Spirit Casino Resort in Tulsa.

This highly anticipated event will see candidates assessed in several categories: private interview (30%), fitness (20%), talent (20%), evening wear (20%) and on-stage questions (10%).

Recent Pittsburg High School graduate Hensley Kidd will begin her journey at Oklahoma State University this fall.

With his community service initiative, The Kidd Strong Foundation, Hensley aims to inspire and help young people develop strength and resilience through mentoring and college scholarship assistance. For the talent portion of the competition, she will perform a jazz dance to “The House of the Rising Sun.”

Sophie Eaton, a student at McAlester High School, is equally excited about her community service initiative, When I Awake, which aims to provide suitcases with essential items to young people in foster care. Sophie's talent will be a solo flute performance of “This is Me” from The Greatest Showman.

Hensley and Sophie worked tirelessly to prepare for the competition, showing remarkable dedication and passion for their respective platforms. Their participation highlights the extraordinary talent and commitment of young women in the McAlester community.
