Minors injured in stabbing incident against Elizabeth after group fight

Elizabeth police are investigating a stabbing incident that occurred Saturday evening, leaving two teenagers injured.The incident occurred around 5:55 p.m. near the intersection of Clark Place and 1st Street, where officers were called to reports of a fight between several juveniles.

According to Elizabeth Police spokesperson Ruby Contreras, upon arrival, officers found two teenagers suffering from stab wounds. The extent of their injuries was not immediately confirmed.

Both individuals were transported to University Hospital in Newark for treatment, spokeswoman Contreras said.

According to unconfirmed reports, a third person was injured in the attack; however, police have not verified these claims.

The group of juveniles involved in the altercation reportedly fled the scene immediately after the stabbing.

At this time, no arrests have been made in connection with this incident.

Elizabeth Police continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding the altercation and are working to identify those involved.
