'Mina The Hollower' Teases Big Gameplay Reveal in Near Future

Yacht Club Games spent most of its recent stream looking at upcoming Shovel Knight games and DLC, but there was also a brief update on the company's new action-adventure game, Mina The Hollower, which is inspired by series like The Legend of Zelda.

Along with a new video (above) once again showing off what players can expect in this new adventure, game director Alec Faulkner has shared some additional information about this new 8-bit handheld-style adventure running at a smooth 60 frames per second.

As for the release date, there's still no solid confirmation for it, but according to the official PR, there will be a “big gameplay reveal in the near future.” This game was originally revealed on Kickstarter in 2022, with Yacht Club providing regular updates since then. Let's descend into the depths of “Mina the Hollower”, our thrilling new action-adventure game. Mina is our next game featuring classic gameplay with a modern twist. Inspired by 8-bit handhelds, “Mina the Hollower” delivers smooth 60fps action combat, a world full of mystery and horror, and a classic top-down adventure. You will play as Mina, a whip-wielding Hollower and visionary inventor, who embarks on a quest to restore power to Dark Isle after receiving a disturbing letter from Baron Lionel. Using her unique Hollowing abilities, Mina can dig into the ground, using a plethora of weapons and trinkets to defeat monsters and uncover the island's dark secrets.

As this new adventure continues to take shape, we are nearing the end of the initial phase on all content tiers. Our hardworking team is now focused on creating the final, most dangerous level. The latest primary weapons and sidearms are meticulously integrated, bringing Mina's deadly arsenal to its full and fearsome potential.

As “Mina the Hollower” evolved, it became much larger than initially planned, incorporating a large world and more RPG elements.
