Mifflin Co. man sentenced to 102 months in prison for attempting to have sex with minor

LEWISTOWN, Pa. (WHTM) — The United States Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania has convicted a Lewistown man for attempting to have sex with a minor.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Gregory A. Wilson, 51, was sentenced to 102 months in prison, followed by ten years of supervised release, for attempted enticement of a minor.


Wilson was also ordered to pay a fine of $500 and a special assessment of $5,100.

On November 8, 2023, Wilson “knowingly attempted to use the means of interstate and foreign commerce to persuade, induce, entice and coerce an individual who had not attained the age of 18 to engage in prostitution and sexual activity.”

The case was investigated by the FBI, Pennsylvania State Police, Patton Township Police and the Center County District Attorney's Office.

Assistant United States Attorney Alisan V. Martin prosecuted the case and sentencing was handed down by Chief District Court Judge Matthew W. Brann.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says this case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a national initiative launched in 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse .
