BBC News has seen new CCTV – one of the last known sightings – of a man believed to be Dr Mosley walking with an umbrella next to the Pedi village marina on Wednesday, heading towards rocky hills.

The mountainous terrain was described as “difficult” by those involved in the search.

The new image appears to show the man in good shape and walking regularly, an anonymous police officer told BBC News.

Earlier on Saturday, firefighters began searching a 6.5 km radius above a mountainous area surrounded by the sea.

When asked if there had been any signs from Dr. Mosley, he said there was “nothing.”

One theory that emerged was that Dr. Mosley was trying to take a much longer route than previously thought, passing over miles of exposed hillsides.

Dr. Mosley's accommodation was in the main town, about a mile from Pedi.

Legend, A photo of Dr Mosley on vacation in Symi was shared on a local Facebook group on Wednesday.
