The body of TV doctor Michael Mosley, known for his appearances on This Morning and The One Show, has been found four days after he disappeared on a Greek island.

The BBC's head of content has paid tribute to TV doctor Michael Mosley after his body was discovered.

The body of the television and radio presenter was discovered after several days of searching on the Greek island of Symi. The 67-year-old doctor disappeared on Wednesday after going for a walk from Agios Nikolaos beach.




Michael's wife, Dr Clare Bailey Mosley, confirmed her husband's death in a statement on Sunday, admitting she was “devastated” to have lost her “wonderful, funny, kind and brilliant husband”. Charlotte Moore, director of content at the BBC, said: “We are deeply saddened by the news of Dr Michael Mosley and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

“Michael has worked closely with BBC Radio 4 and the BBC Studios Science Unit for many years on groundbreaking science and health programs from Medical Mavericks, Eat Fast Live Longer, Inside Michael Mosley and The Young Ones, to trust me , I'm a doctor. He has also made regular appearances on Morning Live and The One Show, and of course presented his own hugely popular and successful BBC Radio 4 and BBC Sounds podcast, Just One Thing.

“He was a brilliant broadcaster and science program creator, able to simplify the most complex topics, but he was also passionate about engaging and entertaining audiences, inspiring us all to live healthier, more fulfilled lives. His entertaining and accessible style was enjoyed by audiences around the world and he will be greatly missed by many people, especially those who were lucky enough to have worked with him at the BBC.

The One Show's official X-page, formerly known as Twitter, shared its support for Michael's family in a statement. It read: “Everyone at The One Show is deeply saddened to hear about our friend and colleague, Dr. Michael Mosley. He was a much-loved and extremely respected member of our original team. Our thoughts are with to his family during this extremely difficult time.

ITV's This Morning also paid tribute to the TV and radio presenter after his tragic death aged 67. In a statement shared on Instagram, the post read: “We are all heartbroken to learn that Michael Mosley has passed away at the age of 67. His wife Clare paid tribute to her wonderful, funny, kind and brilliant husband. Everyone at This Morning is thinking of Clare, their four children, and the rest of Michael's family and friends at this extremely sad time.

Michael was first reported missing by his wife after leaving Agios Nikolaos beach for a walk around 1:30 p.m. local time. CCTV footage, according to the doctor, shows him walking to the other side of the bay, through rocky terrain, amid intense heat.
