Michael Mosley, British TV presenter, dead at 67 – missing for several days

Michael Mosley, a popular British television doctor, has died. He was 67 years old.

Mosley was on vacation with his wife, Clare Bailey Mosley, when he went out for a walk on the Greek island of Symi. When he did not return, he was reported missing on Wednesday and a search of the area began. On Sunday, the BBC reported that a body had been found during the search for Mosley.

“It’s devastating to have lost Michael, my wonderful, funny, kind and brilliant husband. We had an incredibly fortunate life together,” Mosley's wife said in a statement confirming his death later Sunday, according to Deadline. “We take comfort in knowing that he almost made it. He's had an incredible rise , took the wrong path and collapsed where it could not be easily seen by the vast search team.

Mosley was known for producing docuseries, notably those for Channel 4. Michael Mosley: Who made Britain bigger and the BBC Believe me, I'm a doctor. He appeared on BBC One The only show and ITV This morningand has hosted other health-focused docuseries, including BBC Two's Electronic cigarettes: miracle or threat? and BBC Four Inside Porton Down: Britain's Secret Weapons Research Center. In 2002, he was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Nonfiction Special (Informational) for The human facea four-part BBC mini-series exploring the science behind beauty, facial expression and fame.

His other on-screen credits include Infested! Living with Parasites, Should I Eat Meat?, Countdown to Living: Your Extraordinary Creation, Are health tests really a good idea? And The secrets of your dietamong others.

In addition to his television work, Mosley hosted the podcast Just one thing, where he offered simple tips for improving listeners' health and well-being. He is also the author of several books, including The fast diet And The 8-week blood sugar diet.
