Mercedes Benz Teen Driving School Enters Decade of Community Safety

SUGAR LAND, TX – Houston area teens graduated June 8 from the Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land Teen Driving Safety School, a milestone for the decade-long program focused on improving driver's skills. behavior of adolescents. The students completed the one-day road safety program through a program that combines professional driving education with practical experience, bringing the total number of students graduating from the 10-year program to a record 325 teenagers.

Since its inception in 2014, the exclusive, free TDSS program has welcomed teens from MBSL customers and local high schools to hone their driving skills at the MSR Houston racetrack. The dealership offers and funds all of these educational events as part of the Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land ownership experience.

Clients are invited to sessions throughout the year and can register their teenagers to attend. Students are welcomed to the teen safety school by professional instructors and a fleet of Mercedes-Benz vehicles that the dealership favors at the racetrack for educational instruction.

This year's program has introduced new elements to improve the driving experience and quality of teaching, ensuring that students receive high-level training in car safety, road awareness and driving techniques. advanced driving. This year, MBSL celebrated one of its largest participations to date, with 17 enthusiastic riders taking part. Sofia Faget (17) shared, “It reminded me of some of the most important safety training that we sometimes take for granted as young drivers. I enjoyed the reality of the “texting and driving” course because it was an eye-opening experience to see how a slight distraction can sidetrack you. Although I unfortunately ran into obstacle course cones, it could have been much worse in real life.

The training day included interactive practice sessions. Students started as observers before taking the wheel themselves to receive personalized feedback. Graduates receive course certification, which they can submit to their insurer for potential discounts.
