HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – A Memphis felon was arrested in Evansville with nearly 2.5 pounds of meth in his car during a traffic stop.

According to an affidavit, officers with the Evansville Police Department stopped a Toyota Camry with Tennessee license plates for crossing the center line on NW First Street.

The driver, Marcus Fox, 46, reportedly said he did not have insurance on the vehicle. Fox allegedly consented to a search and officers found a plastic bag containing a white powdery substance in Fox's pants. Fox was taken into custody and allegedly told officers it was cocaine. Fox said he was at the casino and thought he had used it all.

Fox also reportedly said he recently smoked a blunt inside the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, officers allegedly found a large vacuum-sealed plastic bag, a plastic shopping bag, and two amber-colored prescription bottles located under the shift lever in the center console.

EPD says several plastic bags containing a crystal substance were found that later tested positive for methamphetamine. One prescription bottle contained a green leafy substance and the other contained white oval pills with M367 printed on them.

The following has been documented and reads:

  • Dollar bill folded 2 (anal cavity), 1 gram, cocaine

The total weight of the crystalline substance was 2.453 pounds and the total weight of the white powder substance was 5.7 grams.
