A 17-year-old man was killed after seven people were shot in a mass shooting in Michigan in the early hours of Memorial Day.

Gunfire broke out in Lansing shortly before 3 a.m., according to police, who arrived on the scene to find a large crowd gathered and several gunshot victims.

The victims – who were all aged between 15 and 20 – were rushed to hospital, where one was pronounced dead and another remained in critical condition.

The incident happened around 2:50 a.m. in the 300 block of River Front Drive.

The Lansing Police Department said News week Monday: “When officers arrived, they found a large crowd of people and several gunshot victims. Lansing firefighters responded to treat and transport several of the victims to a local hospital.

“A total of 7 people were shot. A 17-year-old man was pronounced dead at the hospital. At least one person is in critical condition. The shooting victims have been identified and are between 15 and 20 years old.”

The police department added that the shooting is considered an isolated incident and that an active investigation is underway. No arrests have yet been made.

“This is an active investigation and Lansing Police detectives and crime scene investigators are on scene working to determine the events leading up to the shooting,” he said. .
