Meet the Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska Contestants

Jaelyn Himmelberg, 18, is the daughter of Cassandra Himmelberg and John Himmelberg of Blue Hill. She will be a freshman at Doane University in the fall, majoring in biology with an emphasis on a pre-physician assistant path. Himmelberg will continue his passion for dance at the collegiate level as a member of the Doane University dance team. Himmelberg's goal is to return to rural Nebraska to practice as a physician's assistant and serve the small Nebraska communities that have supported her. Jaelyn also aspires to open a hippotherapy clinic to help children and young adults with special needs, connecting her love of horses and her desire to help and serve others.

Maysen Merritt is a born and raised Nebraska cowgirl who loves serving the Lord and everyone around her. She is the youngest daughter of Zach and Wendy Merritt. Merritt is the youngest generation living on the family ranch. She is active in FFA and Quiz Bowl and loves reading in her free time. One of her favorite things is her horse Rosie, and they have competed in queen competitions, moved cows, participated in numerous brandings, and cleaned the arena at ranch rodeos.

Sophie Schemper, 15, is the daughter of Jared and Dawn Schemper. She will be a sophomore at Loomis High School this fall, where she is active in volleyball, basketball, track and field, band, cheer and FFA. Schemper is an honor roll student and participates in the High Ability Learners program. Outside of school, she is active in church youth group, 4-H, and the Nebraska High School Rodeo, where she qualified for the national finals twice as an undergraduate of secondary school. When she's not busy with activities, she loves spending time on the lake with her family.
