Meet the brash Gen Z cop who arrested Justin Timberlake for DWI

Pop singer Justin Timberlake was recently arrested for drunk driving in the Hamptons. The American singer-songwriter was arrested by a rookie Sag Harbor cop who has a reputation as a strict cop in the city. Timberlake was arrested by rookie police officer Michael Arkinson, whose name was also mentioned on the singer's indictment. Michael stopped the SexyBack singer after passing a stop signal and then going into the wrong lane.

Meet Rookie Cop Michael Arkinson

Michael Arkinson is the rookie cop who arrested Timberlake during his recent DWI arrest, three months into his service. However, he has already gained a reputation as a strict cop in the neighborhood. As the New York Post reports, Hamptons residents also nicknamed the officer “the Sag Harbor Nazi” and “the little red-haired fool” because of his strict enforcement of law and order.

Michael graduated from the police academy two years ago in 2022 and is now promoted to full-time Sag Harbor officer. The 24-year-old police officer also worked as a part-time traffic enforcement officer in 2017, while still in high school. He lives a 25-minute drive from Sag Harbor in the South Hamptons.

The Gen Z cop didn't recognize and had no idea of ​​the former NSYNC member's fame and reputation when he pulled him over for violating traffic laws. He wasn't even born when Timberlake joined his old group NSYNC.

Other tales of trouble with the rookie cop

As the Daily Mail reports, one resident recalled his altercation with the police officer as he spoke on the loudspeaker while driving. The Sag Harbor Nazi charged him a $145 ticket for talking on his cell phone while driving. When the resident protested that he was on speakerphone, the rookie officer asked him to use Bluetooth as per traffic instructions.

“I think Justin Timberlake was a victim of the overly aggressive Sag Harbor police,” the resident added when commenting on Michael's recent arrest of Timberlake.
