Medway garage fire believed to have been started by lawn mower

MEDWAY A Holliston Street resident who was out to dinner Monday night was alerted by his own Ring camera that his garage had caught fire, according to a fire official.

The resident of 46 Holliston St. saw his garage burning on his phone after calling 911 to report the 7:20 p.m. fire, Deputy Chief Michael Fasolino said Tuesday.

“His Ring camera captured everything and he watched it as it progressed,” Fasolino said. “He called it himself, and then we got multiple calls, multiple 911 calls at that point.”

When firefighters arrived, the garage was completely engulfed in flames. It took firefighters from Medway, Millis, Bellingham and Norfolk just minutes to put out the blaze.

But by then it was too late, Fasolino said.

“It consumed almost the entire garage,” he said. “Those teams did a great job. It was a quick upset, but there was a pretty good lead.”
