Mecosta County sheriff's blotter May 31-June 15

MECOSTA COUNTY — Deputies with the Mecosta County Sheriff's Office responded to the following calls May 31-June 15. This is part of a report submitted by the Mecosta County Sheriff's Office and compiled by associate editor Julie Norwood. All calls may not be reported.

Morton Township: At 12:43 pm May 31, deputies responded to a domestic violence report at a residence near Mecosta Elementary. During the investigation, deputies learned the male subject in the incident had made threats against police with a high-powered deer rifle. As a precaution, Mecosta Elementary went into lockdown and M-20 closed down while deputies searched for the subject. They found him at another residence and took him into custody.

Sheridan Township: At 7:50 pm June 2, deputies responded to a crash at 30th Avenue at 15 Mile Road. A vehicle tried to pass a bicyclist when the bicyclist changed lanes in front of it, police said, and the vehicle's bumper hit the bicyclist's back tire. Mecosta County EMS transported the bicyclist to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Martiny Township: At 9:18 pm June 3, deputies attempted to make a traffic stop on a black pickup truck on 110th Avenue near 18 Mile Road. The female driver led deputies on a pursuit before crashing while attempting to pull into the driveway of a residence in Fork Township. She then fled on foot into the residence. Deputies arrested the driver and her mother after they both resisted deputies. The driver faces multiple charges.

Morton Township: At 2:35 pm June 5, deputies arrested a man on a warrant and lodged him at Mecosta County jail.

Big Rapids Township: At 9:48 pm June 5, deputies arrested a man on a warrant and lodged him at Mecosta County jail.

Big Rapids Township: At 9:30 pm June 6, deputies arrested a woman on a warrant and lodged him at Mecosta County jail.

Aetna Township: At 8:29 pm June 6, deputies arrested a man on a warrant and lodged him at Mecosta County jail.

Wheatland Township: A traffic stop at 1:44 pm June 10 resulted in the arrest of a male passenger on a warrant.

Morton Township: At 9:51 pm June 11, deputies arrested a man on a warrant.

Big Rapids Township: At 2 pm June 11, deputies arrested a man on a warrant.

Mecosta Township: At 9:05 pm June 12, deputies assisted probation/parole in arresting a woman on several probation violations.

Hinton Township: At 3 pm June 12, deputies arrested a man on a warrant.

Deerfield Township: A traffic stop at 3:15 pm June 12 resulted in the arrest of a female passenger on a warrant.

Morton Township: At 11:15 am June 13, deputies arrested a woman on several warrants and lodged her at the Mecosta County jail.

Big Rapids Township: A traffic stop at 2:05 pm June 13 resulted in the arrest of the female driver on several warrants. She was lodged at the Mecosta County jail.

Big Rapids Township: At 10:01 pm June 14, deputies responded to a head-on crash at Perry Avenue and Waldron Way. Police said a 17-year-old pulled in front of a 66-year-old woman. One person from the first vehicle was transported to the Big Rapids hospital for minor injuries and precautionary measures.
