MBI investigates fatal shooting involving Flowood police

One person is dead following a shooting involving officers with the Flowood Police Department. According to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, officers with the Flowood Police Department received a call about a person attempting to break into apartments near Park Circle Drive. When they arrived on scene and approached the suspect, Flowood police said the suspect fired at the officers, and the officers returned fire, fatally striking him. No police officers were seriously injured in the shooting. MBI is investigating.

FLOWOOD, Missile. —

One person is dead following a shooting involving officers with the Flowood Police Department.

According to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, officers with the Flowood Police Department received a call about a person attempting to break into apartments near Park Circle Drive.

When they arrived on scene and approached the suspect, Flowood police said the suspect fired at the officers, and the officers returned fire, fatally striking him.

No officers were seriously injured in the shooting.
