Mays Landing teen pronounced dead

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP — A 19-year-old motorcyclist died Saturday after crashing into another vehicle at an intersection, police said.

Jeremiah Saint Surin, of Mays Landing, was driving a 2003 Honda motorcycle eastbound on West Jersey Avenue approaching the intersection of Cates Road around 6:16 p.m. Saturday, according to a police release Sunday morning.

Germain Rahn, 38, of Egg Harbor Township, was stopped at the northbound stop sign on Cates Road in his 2021 Ford Explorer while waiting to cross West Jersey Avenue. Upon entering the intersection, Rahn was struck at a right angle on the driver's side of her vehicle by Saint Surin's motorcycle.

Municipal emergency medical services transported Saint Surin to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, city campus, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said Rahn was slightly injured by her airbags. No injuries were reported by the other occupants of his vehicle.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office and AtlantiCare Advanced Life Support also responded to the accident. Traffic was diverted for approximately four hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.

Officers Joseph Ricevuto and Robert Moran and Sgt. Ed Stearns of the Highway Safety Unit investigated the crash.
