Mays Landing, New Jersey man charged in fatal stabbing in Hamilton Township.

A Mays Landing man has been charged with murder after being stabbed in Hamilton Township Wednesday afternoon.

Solomon Lonner of Lakewood, NJ, killed

The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said Hamilton Township police were called to 789 Park Road around 5:20 p.m. after receiving multiple 9-1-1 calls about a stabbing in progress.

Officers arrived and found Solomon Lonner, 49, of Lakewood, the owner of the home, inside with multiple stab wounds.

Lonner was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Michael Carney of Mays Landing, New Jersey, charged

Michael Carney, 39, of Mays Landing, was arrested at his home and eventually charged with murder and weapons-related offenses.

Authorities say Carney resided in the Park Road home and rented it with several other people from Lonner.

This incident is currently under investigation by the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit and the Hamilton Township Police Department.
