Mays Landing man charged in fatal stabbing of landlord

A Mays Landing man is accused of fatally stabbing his landlord inside the residence Wednesday.

Police were called to 789 Park Road at 5:19 p.m. Wednesday for a stabbing in progress, according to the Atlantic County District Attorney's Office.

Solomon Lonner, 49, of Lakewood, Ocean County, was found inside with multiple stab wounds, the report said.

He was taken to AtLantiCare Regional Medical Center Atlantic City Campus in Atlantic City, where he was declared dead shortly afterwards.

Michael Carney, 39, was arrested in residence and charged with murder and weapons-related offenses.

Carney R.entered Lonner's house with several other people.

The cause and manner of death are pending autopsy by the Southern Regional Medical Ex.Admiral's office.

This incident is being investigated by the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit. Unit and the Hamilton Township Police Department.
