Massachusetts stabbing suspect linked to Connecticut homicide

DEEEP RIVER, Conn. (WWLP) – The suspect in a stabbing in Massachusetts over the weekend is also now the suspect in a homicide in Deep River, Conn., on the same day.

According to Connecticut State Police, on Saturday around 3:36 p.m., troopers were called to a home on Merriwold Lane in Deep River for a disturbance. Officers learned that a suspect had approached the home and thrown a shovel through the front door window, then left.

A complainant was able to identify the suspect to police as someone who was staying on Maritone Lane where another disturbance was reported. Officers attended the address and found a man dead with visible injuries outside the home. The victim was identified as Bruce Feldman, 70, of West Hartford.

Officers learned that another person was at the home earlier in the day, identified as a 26-year-old. Jared Ravizza from Chilmark, Massachusetts. Ravizza's personal effects were reportedly found at the home and witnesses were able to provide a description of him.

Later that day, Ravizza was arrested in Sandwich after allegedly stabbing several young girls at a Braintree movie theater and then stabbing two employees at a McDonald's in Plymouth. He led police on a car chase before being arrested. He was arraigned Tuesday on charges related to those incidents. The judge ordered a mental health evaluation.

Charges against Ravizza in connection with the Connecticut homicide remain pending as he remains in custody in Massachusetts.
