Mass shooting in Savannah: 2 more suspects arrested

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Jordan Jones, 20, and Cazare Cooper, 18, wanted for the May 18 shooting in Ellis Square, have been arrested, according to jail records.

Records indicate Cazare and Jones were arrested by the Savannah Police Department (SPD) on May 30 and are being held without bail at the Chatham County Jail. The Chatham County Sheriff's Office Jail Records Division confirms to News 3 that the case report numbers for Cazares and Jones match those in the Savannah Police Department's investigation into the Ellis Square shooting (SPD).


Jones is charged with four counts of aggravated assault (participation in) and four counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. According to jail records, he was arrested in 2023 on several charges, including speeding and reckless driving.

Cooper is charged with four counts of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during a felony. Chatham County Jail records show he has been arrested twice previously, once in 2022 for theft and drug possession charges and another in 2023 for criminal trespassing and obstructing officers.

News 3 has contacted SPD and is awaiting a response.
