A teenage girl missing for several days was recently the victim of an assault at her high school, police in Mashpee, Massachusetts, said Wednesday, noting that state, federal and local authorities were urgently searching for her.

The girl who was attacked during the fight – police did not say when it took place – was reported missing on June 2 and is “currently the subject of an intense search using several local, state resources and federal,” Mashpee Police Chief Scott Carline said. said in a statement, without using the victim's name.

Mashpee police said Monday that Konton disappeared from his home on June 2.

“Our highest priority right now is the safe return of this missing juvenile,” Carline said. “We are aware that this series of events has caused significant public concern and attention and we continue to deploy all available resources to safely complete this matter within the parameters of the laws on miners of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.”

He said police were following “multiple leads” as they worked to return the missing girl on Wednesday.
