Maryland man sentenced to prison for shooting, killing his wife

During an investigation it was revealed that his wife had told friends and family that she planned to leave her husband and cut off his support.

GAITHERSBURG, Md. — A Gaithersburg man will spend the next 45 years behind bars for the murder of his wife.

Allen Price Jr., 45, was convicted of the murder Wednesday afternoon. He pleaded guilty in December 2023 to second-degree murder and use of a firearm during a violent crime for shooting and killing his then-wife, Natasha Price.

Authorities say on September 17, 2020, Price Jr. shot his wife inside their home on Sandy Lake Drive in Gaithersburg. He then jumped out of a second story window and tried to escape. Police searched the area and found Price Jr. hiding in a wooded area.

Natasha Price was taken to an area hospital for help after the shooting, where she remained on life support until her death just a month later on October 9.

During an investigation it was revealed Natasha Price had told friends and family she planned to leave her husband and cut off his support.

“We aggressively prosecute domestic violence cases, and in this case we are grateful that the judge imposed a sentence above the Maryland State Sentencing Guidelines. The accused shot his wife while his children were present inside the house. We extend our deepest condolences to the victim’s family and share our grief over this senseless loss of life,” said State’s Attorney John McCarthy.
