Marvel Reveals WEAPON X-TRACTION Variants Tied to This Summer's Backup Stories

Marvel continues to double down Deadpool and Wolverine by making the release of the comics coincide with the film. As the only superhero film on Marvel's slate of releases scheduled for this year, a lot of hype and expectations have focused all eyes on the property, which is why Marvel Comics is releasing eight comic book shorts WEAPON X-TRACTION backup comic to coincide with its release. . Written by the incredible author of the current Fantastic Four titles Ryan North and drawn by the Avenger artist Javier Garron, the new series runs for the duration of the Deadpool movie schedule, from July 17 to August 14.

It's the summer of pop culture's favorite enemies: Deadpool and Wolverine! Just in time for Marvel Studios' highly anticipated Deadpool & Wolverine movie in July, a special new team-up saga spans eight Marvel titles this summer as bonus back-up stories! Written by Ryan North (Fantastic Four) and drawn by Javier Garrón (Avengers), WEAPON X-TRACTION begins in July's Incredible Hulk #14 and continues through August in various issues of the ongoing series. Fans will also discover that each issue containing an episode of the saga will have a special WEAPON X-TRACTION VARIANT cover.

Incredible Hulk #14 will have a teaser variant cover that uses Garrón's promotional art for the story, while remaining titles with backup stories from WEAPON X-TRACTION will have covers with artwork in honor of the upcoming film and drawn by some of the industry's hottest artists. including Steve McNiven, Ryan Stegman, Jorge Molina, Cafu, Declan Shalvey and David Nakayama.

With no increase in the price of certain issues, WEAPON X-TRACTION backup stories will offer readers a dose of Wolverine/Deadpool action at no extra cost! Longtime comic book readers know all too well that Deadpool and Wolverine together make up some of the craziest misadventures ever told in the Marvel Universe. WEAPON Violent, crude, and chaotic, it's also perfect for new fans looking for a solid introduction to the comic book storytelling behind these two icons.

On writing this thrilling saga, North said: “Javier is an incredibly talented artist, and he absolutely manages to find the fine balance between comedy, violence and big, important feelings that are the hallmarks of Deadpool. Taking him and Wolverine across the multiverse as they try to save everything – and not kill each other at the same time – has been a delight. The fact that this story appears in tons of different Marvel comics in 5-page chunks has also been a fun challenge: I like me as a formalist comic, and this is like a series of shorts that add up also a feature film. I really think it's something special!
