Martha Unger, missing mother, children may have been 'forced' to go to Mexico

A rural Kansas mother and her two young daughters suddenly disappeared over the weekend — and investigators believe they may have been forced to go to a religious rehabilitation center in Mexico.

Martha Unger, 23, and her daughters Madilynn Grace Unger, 2, and Haylie Faith Unger, 1, were reported missing from their home in rural Haskell County just before 7 p.m. Friday, the investigative bureau wrote of Kansas on Facebook.

Authorities say the young family may have been forcibly taken out of the country by a couple in their 50s.

“Investigators believe they may have been coerced into traveling to Mexico to a religious rehabilitation center with Corney and Elizabeth Klaasen,” the KBI said in a message that included a photo of the older couple.

Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding the missing family.

The Klassens are believed to be driving a white and black Chevrolet Blazer registered in Mexico. Corney is described as a man who is approximately 6 feet tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds. He is clean shaven and was last seen wearing jeans and a button-down shirt.

Although authorities have not shared a description of Elizabeth Klaasen, a provided photograph of the couple shows they are both white with brown hair and glasses.
