March hopes to bring missing people home

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – An effort is underway to bring awareness to those missing in central Ohio and hope that one day they will return.

Saturday marked Andy Chapman's first walk for the missing.

Whether they have been missing for a day or a decade, there is not a day when these families do not think of their missing loved ones.

Andy Chapman was last seen at his home on Columbus' west side 18 years ago. His family has not lost hope that one day he will be found.

Chapman's family organized the march in an effort to get information about Andy.

The walk wasn't just for him; it was for all the other local families searching for their loved ones, like Danny Fout, who went missing from the Hilltop area in 2019. His four daughters were at the walk hoping to find out where their father is.

“Me, my sisters, my family, we miss him so much,” said Danny’s daughter, Kaitlyn Fout. “Just any information we can get, and happy Father's Day early in the day if he sees this.”

“He’s my blood,” said Aimee Chapman, Andy Chapman’s sister. “He's my brother. He was my best friend. I'm not going to give up on him. I wouldn't give up on anyone else who's gone, but it's even harder knowing that they're my family .

Anyone with information about missing persons is asked to call the Columbus Police Missing Persons Unit at (614) 645-4624 or the Ohio Attorney General's Office of Criminal Investigation.
