Bedford Borough Police responded to a residence in the borough on May 22 after receiving reports that an 18-year-old had sent sexual messages to a ten-year-old boy.

The alleged victim's mother showed police a Snapchat text exchange that allegedly mentioned masturbation and other sexual comments and photos. The photos could not be seen by police because they had been opened previously.

The alleged victim allegedly met Martin the day before during a walk. She alleged that no inappropriate touching occurred and that they only held hands.

On May 24, Martin admitted to sending a photo via Snapchat to the alleged victim, confirming it was a photo of his penis. Police said Martin believed the alleged victim was between 14 and 16 years old. Bail was set at $65,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 12.

Brandon J. Clark, 28, of Bedford, was charged with grand larceny, misdemeanor simple assault, misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking, misdemeanor receiving stolen property and summary harassment on May 31.

Bedford Borough Police responded to UPMC Bedford on May 24 for a report of an assault victim.

Martin, the alleged victim, said the suspect was in the adjoining waiting room. Clark reportedly said he injured his fist when he punched a door during an argument with his girlfriend.

Bedford police were also investigating whether Martin sent sexual messages to Clark's girlfriend's daughter. Police said Clark denied involvement when presented with a possible motive.

Martin said Clark “definitely” assaulted him and took his backpack containing his personal belongings.

Martin's injuries included boot prints believed to match Clark's work boots.

Police said Martin's backpack was discovered along what would have been Clark's likely route from the scene of the assault to his residence. Bail is set at $100,000 unsecured.
