Man tasered and arrested after high-speed chase

Dora, Missouri. – Gregory Hambelton, 52, an Ozark County resident, was arrested following a high-speed chase on Sunday, June 30, 2024. This was Hambelton’s second arrest in 3 days. He is now charged with resisting arrest, fourth-degree assault, reckless and careless driving, driving while his license is suspended, and operating a motorcycle while his license is not validated for such operations.

According to the probable cause affidavit, an Ozark County Sheriff's Office deputy saw Hambelton riding a motorcycle near Dora. The deputy turned on his lights to conduct a traffic stop because he knew Hambelton had a suspended driver's license and no motorcycle license, due to his arrest on the same charges three days prior. Upon seeing the lights, Hambelton accelerated and reached speeds of 90 miles per hour before being stopped on Missouri Route CC. He then refused to obey the deputy's commands and attempted to record the encounter with the deputy on his phone.

The officer warned Hambelton that he would be tased if he did not follow the order to put his hands behind his head. Hambelton got back on his bike and the officer tased him and took him into custody.

Hambleton is being held at the Ozark County Jail.
