Man stabbed in the head in Providence expected to survive

Police are investigating a stabbing Sunday in Providence.

Officers were called to Elmwood Avenue and Woodman Street around 6 p.m. and found a victim who had been stabbed in the head.

The victim was conscious and alert when taken to Rhode Island Hospital. Investigators have not released any information about the suspect or the circumstances of the attack.
